Gordon B. Hinckley

I too like many of you had mixed emotion when you heard the news of our dear prophets passing. He was the prophet who helped build my testimony. He was establishing the Proclamation to the Family, temples, the famous Be's, and many more important items during my most critical years of life (teens). I am so going to miss that smile of his and the waving of his cane. I love the crackling of his voice. I also love the pictures of him in his cowboy hat. I am thankful for his MANY years of service. I am so excited that he is back with the love of his life. This morning we were in a rush to get out the door and I kept thinking did I forget anything..leave anything plugged in...feed my kids..etc. and as we were about to get on the main road Brooklyn says Oh, shoot mom President Hinckley died. I responded with "yes, he did." She asks next, "What are we going to do now?" I had the opportunity then to explain that the gospel will go on and that we will have another prophet of God soon. She was excited to hear that and then she says, "I am sure going to miss him though just like I missed you when I was still in Heaven." I seriously wonder what goes on in that 3 year old brain of hers. She surprises daily. She is such an great example to me. President Hinckley was an example to me in many ways, but family and having an eternal relationship is what I think of most. They had the cutest, sweetest, relationship that lasted for 60 plus years. I remember when he was dedicating a temple and they were preparing the cornerstone with grout (I think) and he told his wife Marjorie to go on up there and get some of it and was so sweet to her. I believe now that it was the Navuoo temple and it was on broadcast. Anyways, I am rambling, but President Hinckley will be missed, but always loved!

Gosh, I can barely see the screen through my tears. Thanks for sharing your feelings and Brooklyn's tenderness towards the Prophet, whom we all love and admire. Gosh I love that little girl!
