Relay for Life

Tonight was Relay for Life and most of ya'll know I walked for Nana Betty who died a little over 2 years ago from cancer. It was a really fun event. Brooklyn LOVED it and was very upset when I had to go and put her in the bed. She wanted so badly to walk the track with me. I actually was going to let her because I walked at 10 pm and was going to put Jack down for bed then come back and walk. On the way out they came over the loud speaker and told us that they were shutting down due to thunderstorms being 30 minutes away. So, I got some pictures, but not as many as I would have liked. I know Nana was and is watching over us and how much fun we were having. I sure do hope they find a cure for cancer! WE LOVE YOU NANA!

The survivors start the first lap of the relay and they have different shirts than everyone else. They walk along the track and everyone claps for them. It is really sweet and sometimes emotional. I was shocked to see how many people that I knew walking due to fighting or fought it. Brooklyn was so cute cheering everyone on and clapping for them. This old man in a wheel chair came over to see her clapping (he was a survivor) it was so cute!

Aunt Duckie and Brooklyn remembering Nana for a pose! She would be so proud. She is prolly preping her new great grandbabies for life here on Earth.

Thank you Aunt JoAnn, Mom and Dad, And Terry and Shelley for helping me raise my money! Here are the Luminarias that I made for Nana. I did one from her kids and one from the Grandkids. Next year I will for sure have to remember the great grandkids. Don't know what I was thinking!

Steph and Nick were such a help with the kids. Joel had the Regional track (will post results tomorrow). Thank yall so much for helping!

This is part of the team I was on. Our team name was Infinite Hope. Our them sport was tennis. So that is why Cristina is dressed up like a tennis ball. I am excited for next year already, lets just pray for no rain!

That is awesome Britni! You are such a good granddaughter and daughter. I'm so glad that you participated in that. I'm so thankful that you have such awesome friends and family to support you too. Love the pic of steph, nick and jack. He is changing every time you post his picture. I bet brooklyn really did have a great time. Two things she loves - being outside and having a lot of people around!

Nick and I had so much fun. I'll support a cure for cancer any day. We miss Nana so much, but she is definitely in a better place and we will see her again. Next time we need to take your camera from you and get some pics of you for sure. We love y'all!!
