Are You Ready For Some FOOTBALL!!!!

Tonight we kicked off our first night of football season! I woke up like it was another day, but I turned over (to a little girl that sneeks into our room in the middle of the night) and Brooklyn screams, "Oh, I gotta go get my cheerleading uniform on!" Luckily I was able to catch her before she got to her room and destroyed her closet trying to get her uniform down. I had to talk her into not putting the uniform on until AFTER nap time. What she didn't know is that I had planned on nap to be later due to such a late game! Which brings me to my next story. So I went through my day still not really thinking about the game until the News at Noon highlighted our game due to being ranked in the state and I started to feel a little more excited and anxious. Then, I finally had to wake Brooklyn up for her nap (or we were 1. going to be in very big trouble with Papa and 2. probably really going to be late for the game) so when I walked into her room I sang the fight song to get her excited. She had such a teenage moment and said, " I am not done sleeping yet...leave me alone!" I said fine I will just go to the game with out you, then she popped out of bed and said, Get my cheerleading uniform down please! So Sassy that girl is! Well, we finally get to the game and it started raining and little Miss Brooklyn started to get a little Antsy! The rain cleared and we made our way to the fiedl. There is nothing sweeter than seeing your husband on that field doing what he loves most! I know most of you know how much I love football and sports period and probably not surprised that I married a coach, but I am just in awe at every game at how lucky of a girl I am! I love the pride I have for the team that Joel loves and the boys he loves so much! We sat in front of a really sweet and really known Judson supporter tonight. As we got ready for the kick off she says, "I have been waiting for this for a long time!" I thought so have I! Then I look down and see my sweet, prideful little rocket holding her little hand giving the Diamond J sign and it just melted my heart! Anyways, on to the actual game highlight. We played against San Antonio Warren which are ranked 10 in the state and number 1 in the city. We are ranked 18 in the state and 3 in the city. So I was a little nervous going into it. Our defense played great due to having 3 great turnovers! Our special teams did well too. Our offense need a little work, but hey you can't beat this score 23-12...US! It was a really fun game and I am so glad we make it a family affair! Jack loved the band and dance around and got a few claps in too. Noah made is first game debut as well and was so good! Sherree helped with Brooklyn while she played with 2 little girls that really I think Brooklyn just bossed around on how to do different cheerleading tricks. Oh, the girls were like 6ish too. I have no idea were she gets her sassiness from! WAY TO GO ROCKETS! Whoop Whoop!

It was fun, but you failed to mention we did all that without being at home in our stadium, since it's not ready yet! It was supposed to be a home game but ended up playing at their home field. To quote my dad, "we don't need not stinkin' stadium...we can win anywhere!"

I wish I could have been there. Kate and Clair still talk about how Judson is one of their favorite teams! I raise my kids right...Judson and Clemson!
